Dolls in Amber

Dolls in Amber
DOLLS IN AMBER is a production company founded by a couple of geeky women, excited by the challenge of making sci-fi theatre on a dime.
QUEER, female-led, and aiming to put non straight-white-male narratives front and centre, especially in genres where we're usually relegated to eye-candy or canon fodder (that's if we exist at all.)
WE tell stories that audiences wouldn't expect to see without a tonne of CGI, and see zero reason why LGBT+/women /enby people shouldn’t get in on superhero/spaceship/sorcerer-based shenanigans!
THE HEAD HONCHOS
KT ROBERTS
writer/co-founder
she/her
KT is a screen and stage writer who loves sci-fi & fantasy and exploring LGBT+ and gender themes in her work.
She graduated with a 2.i in Neuroscience from Cambridge University in 2013, and then promptly forgot all about the science stuff, and started making things up. KT is represented by Tavistock Wood and is currently working on a number of projects, including a sci-fi pilot commissioned by Vikarious Productions and a TV series about St Paul for Cattleya (#multifaceted).
On many occasions, she has been told she is the spitting image of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, except with a larger earring collection and supreme Dungeons and Dragons skills.
MICHA MIRTO
director/co-founder
she/her
Micha has a strong and diverse background in dramaturgy and directing.
All three shows she directed at Camden Fringe 2019 received Off-West-End award nominations. 'Room Service', the sci-fi play she directed at the Bread and Roses, received an Offie commendation and transferred to Talos Sci-fi Festival. 'Oddball,' on which she was dramaturg and director, was recently nominated for the Edinburgh TV Festival: New Voice Stage to Screen Award 2020. She has worked with the NHS & Disney on various bespoke projects the most notable of which was a large scale immersive version of Disney’s 'The Nutcracker.'
Micha has a natural affinity for pushing boundaries, both in theatre and in life, and won an extreme ironing competition when she was 11.
And yes, that is as badass as it sounds.
